DRAFN'S 31th ANNIVERSARY
June 24 - 26, 2011

Let all men know From the Baltic to the Black Sea that the time has come for the 31st Lemming Gatherings
The facility: We will be camping at the Horse Heaven camp site on Mount Laguna. We have rented two sites: Buttercup and Hollyhock camp sites (more space and more parking). The camp is surrounded by acres of pine forest. Temperatures are nice even when the rest of the east county is sweltering.
This will be a camping event. There is running water and out-houses of fine perfume for your use, but no showers. Garb is required for the weekend.
Schedule: Site opens Friday afternoon. Weapson contests Saturday morning. Membership meeting Saturday afternoon. Feast and treasure hunt Saturday evening. Site closes on Sunday.
Costs: The entire four days and three nights will be a mere $20 per person for anyone 18 and over (physically, not mentally) and includes the Saturday night feast for the first 60 people who sign up. Youths from 13 to 17 years of age are $10, and Children to 12 years are free. There will be no day tripping price break.
Money: Send your money by to Diane Granander (Kara the Twin)
What you need to provide: Drink for the weekend, Garb (this is a costumed event), Feast gear (for Saturday night), and what ever else you need to survive the weekend.
Directions: From San Diego take Interstate 8 East to the Sunrise Highway exit #47. Turn left (north) and drive about 13 miles north on Sunrise Highway through the town (don’t blink or you will miss it) of Mt Laguna (past mile-marker 25). The Horse Heaven Campground entrance is on the left. There is a sign (on your right) but if you are driving fast it is easy to miss. If you reach the Al Bahr Shrine camp, you have gone too far. There are three camp sites, we are the one at the end and the one farthest in on the right side (Buttercup and Hollyhock).
Drafn Champion: Dust off you axes spears and bows. On Saturday we will once again be holding a series of contests of Viking skill to select new Drafn Champions. There will be an open category, and a Women and Youth category for women and youth 14 and under. The competition will consist of:
1. War Tourney (Drafn round, and ax or war weapon 30” or less) or Boffer Contest
2. Single handed Axe throw
3. Archery (twenty yards, six shots)
4. Tequila Crossbow Duel (anyone over 21 must drink to enter)
5. Spear Toss
6. Hammer toss
We will do our best to have equipment to loan, but you will do better if you bring your own. Volunteers are needed to help with the games and festivities.
